What I do, where I work
I’m an astronomy educator at the Astronomical Society of the Pacific in San Francisco. The main part of my job is acting as lead educator for Astronomy from the Ground Up, a NSF-funded professional development program for museum, nature center, and science center educators who want to bring more astronomy to their audiences. Working together with ASTC and the National Optical Astronomy Observatory, we offer regional workshops around the country, as well as online workshops. I also work on various other projects related to museums/science centers.
