What I do, where I work
I am currently (and most consumingly!) the coordinator for “Transforming Museums: Bridging Theory and Practice,” to be held May 22-23, 2008 in Seattle, Washington. The goal of the conference is to look for innovative ways to address museums’ changing needs. In this position, I’m coordinating a committee of 13 of my classmates to make this event happen. It’s one of the most exciting things I’ve ever done, and I learn incredible things about myself, my cohort, and leadership every single day. When I graduate, I look forward to applying all these collaborative experiences to the exhibit development and interpretive planning process.

More about me
I’m a Master’s Degree Candidate at the University of Washington’s Museology Program. My primary interests are in exhibit development, interpretive planning, and experience design. I view the work of museums as a cultural process; therefore, I believe that the exhibit development process necessarily requires an understanding of audience and institutional cultures in order to take part in them. I believe in revitalizing exhibits as a social and scholarly medium.
