  • What I do, where I work

  • At the moment I am working freelance, and am looking for work that is interesting and stimulating, wherever it is. I am extremely interested in exploring and developing learning experiences for families, schools and adults. I am committed working with target audiences to ensure that exhibits, displays, activities and materials meet their needs and interests.

    I am resourceful, creative, and use my initiative. I am an excellent team-worker with good communication skills, both verbally and written.

    My management experience includes
    • 17 years of experience in the development of exhibitions within science centres, discovery centres and national museums including The Science Museum, London; Discover, East London, from concept to reality; Explore@Bristol; The National Maritime Museum; Eureka! The Museum for Children, Halifax; educational outside play-spaces for two schools in collaboration with Creative Partnerships; exhibits especially tailored for a special needs school.

    • I have developed exhibit content, written content for graphics, educational materials and follow-up materials educational and programmed educational events, for families, schools and adults.

    My academic success and research experience:
    • I have a BA Hons in English and Theatre Studies (1989, Leeds University);
    • I have a PhD (1999; University College London)
    • Research: Sheffield University; NESTA; the British Council in Taiwan.
